SERVICE PARTS MANAGER

The Service Parts Manager training is designed to enable participants to develop and implement a service parts strategy and to manage the service parts supply chain organisation. The course provides participants the opportunity to understand the differences between a manufacturing supply chain and a service parts supply chain and the implications for designing, implementing, and managing the service parts supply chain organisation.

The practical tools and exercises in the training will improve the manager’s ability to lead the service parts supply chain organisation.

Objectives of the training

In this training participants will learn more about the definition and purpose of the Service Parts Manager role, and the required competencies to fulfil this role successfully.

After this training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand and explain the differences between a manufacturing supply chain and a service parts supply chain
  • Develop a parts segmentation that can be used to differentiate in-stock levels and service level agreements with parts suppliers
  • Prepare a plan on stocking levels, stocking locations etc. for each spare part
  • Explain to R&D what technical documentation needs to be prepared as part of the machine development process to be able to manage service parts after the launch
  • Develop a service parts strategy
  • Manage the implementation of a service parts strategy
  • Develop a service parts logistics model
  • Manage service parts suppliers
